A Short Upcoming Trip

I am excited about a short trip coming up in a few weeks. I am heading north to Tennessee to visit my brother and his family. While there my brother and I will hit a few concerts. The first one is in Nashville and the second is a little further north in Indianapolis. I am excited about seeing some of the countryside north of Nashville and seeing some of Indianapolis. I have never been up that way and I love to see new places. It will not be a long trip but it will be a fun filled one.

I have been reading quite a few travel blogs of late to get some ideas on places to go and things to see. I ordered a large wall map of the world to help me in two ways. First it will help me visually looking at places I want to visit and the proximity of the next destination. Secondly, and maybe most importantly, it will serve as motivation for the trip.

I also picked up a Bill Bryson book. I heard he is a good travel writer and I am looking for some good reading that might be inspiring as well. If you have any more recommendations on good travel books please drop me a line.

This was just a short entry but I will leave you with another Mark Twain quote on traveling...

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” - Mark Twain

One thing I´ve done of similar nature was to is put an image on my desktop of where I was going next. The picture I chose was of a museum like, hot water spring bathhouse in Budapest and sure enough, a few weeks late I was there.

I also have a big map of the world on a wall in my appartment.

Nice reading you.

I really like the image on the desktop idea. Since I moved to SK I no longer have a map on my wall but I hope to remedy that soon.
